African Economic Merit Awards is aimed at boosting economic growth in African communities by uniting successful business entrepreneurs with latent talents. Enriching the soil and giving hope to Africans with agricultural, educational, technology, and business initiatives.

Since 2015, African Economic Merit Awards through our community health programmes have provided material and financial support to communities across Africa, over 9,648 people have benefitted from our community health based programmes, our medical outreach in communities In Ghana focuses on the treatment of snake bite and in the largest slum in (Kibera) Nairobi, Kenya donation of medicines, wheelchairs, mosquito nets, sanitary pads and other medical items.

AEMA, through our programmes and interventions In the past 7 years, has touched over 36, 691 lives in developing communities and schools in Nigeria and across Africa.

We have introduced programmes and policies to government organizations to build a better society for peaceful coexistence.

AEMA ENTREPRENEUR

The AEMA Entrepreneur promotes entrepreneurship across universities in Nigeria and Africa. It also provides the opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to be mentored by already established entrepreneurs in Africa.

The AEMA Entrepreneur also supports Grassroots Empowerment through its initiative AEMA Grassroots Stipends. The initiative creates opportunities for people in rural communities to benefit and contribute economically to their immediate communities.

Through this initiative, the AEMA Entrepreneur provides entrepreneurship training, mentoring, and business internships; increases access to financial support for young people through funds support from donor partners for start-up capital and business growth/expansion purposes

Area of focus for The AEMA Entrepreneur is youth with innovative ideas to disrupt and grow the   following areas:

1. Agriculture – Agro-Processing, Fish Farming, Piggery and Poultry.

2. Creative Economy (Fashion, photography, creative arts, music, and film entertainments)

3. Information and communications Technology (ICT)

4. Retail Trading (Buying and selling, Agentship, Broker, Commission Agent


AEMA HEALTH INITIATIVE

AEMA Health Initiative, centre on tackling complex and fundamental challenges in the health and social systems to drive sustainable and transformative impact with emphasis on the following:

Systems Strengthening:

  • Health Financing
  • Strengthening Supply Chain
  • Priority Health Programs:
  • Infectious Disease – A. Malaria B. HIV/AIDS
  • Non-Communicable Disease – A. Diabetes B.NCDI
  • Poverty Commission

AEMA LEADERSHIP (AEMA LEAD)

AEMA Leadership focuses on addressing the challenges of effective leadership on the continent. The programme promotes leadership amongst the African youth by building an inter-generational dialogue to address the leadership gap between the old and the young. This is to create solidarity across generations for sustainable development.

As part of the AEMA LEAD intervention and activities, annually young people are given the opportunity to lead at the highest echelon of public and corporate offices for 2 hours.  Design the concept of this and the impact.
